Spring has Sprung? Edition


Dear Wine lovers & Friends,

The Stuff  Dreams are Made of?- if you've ever fantasized about living the glamorous life of the cellar rat, your chance to live out that dream would be by attending our Bottle Your Own and Opening of the Barbecue Season on  Sat.,  March 24  or Sat., March 31 beginning at 10 a.m. What happens at BYO&OBBQS? We allow you to bottle, cork, label, foil, and case wine for a couple of hours, break for a traditional vintner's lunch, hit it again until we're done,  clean up the bottling line, and have a potluck BBQ under the arbor- we supply the burgers and appropriate libations. If this sounds like fun, then Mark Twain was right, and you need to call  800-727-6702 to make a reservation. It's free, but there's a $10 deposit-refundable when you show up.

Spring Barrel Tasting- Friday -Sunday, April 27-29 from 10-5,  is your chance to join thousands of other oenophiles for a gustatorial look at wines straight out of the barrel.  Each Yakima Valley Winery Association member winery does something different, so grab a glass- or you can purchase a souvenir glass at most participating wineries. We'll be pairing up with Chukar Cherries again and sampling some Ports or Cabernet- call 1-800-258-7270 for a free guide to the wineries. If the crowds of Barrel Tasting aren't your bag, join us on Sat, April 21 for Pre-Barrel Tasting- we'll be sampling the same wines and maybe something a little special for you newsletter recipients.

The Vintner's Inn- things are still moving along on our country inn project- we're hoping to have a grand opening of the restaurant in early May and a room or two to rent by June- call us at 1-800-727-6702 for info
